Serving adolescents & adults

B.A., Intake Coordinator & Student Counselor Intern
Tia works with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, stress, trauma, family and relationship challenges, life transitions, adjustment concerns, crisis, emotional overwhelm, low self-esteem, and difficulty regulating emotions. She supports clients who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to make sense of what they are experiencing.
Tia is completing her graduate training in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and provides therapy under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional. She also brings more than eight years of experience in family advocacy and support services, working with individuals and families through crisis, transition, and emotional distress. Her therapeutic approach incorporates Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centered therapy, and trauma-informed care.
My Style
My style is warm, calm, collaborative, and practical. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can speak openly without feeling judged or pressured to have everything figured out.
I’m comfortable sitting with difficult emotions and high-stress conversations, and I’ll meet you where you are. Together, we can make sense of what feels overwhelming, identify your strengths, and develop tools that feel realistic for your life.
I also believe therapy should be flexible. I tailor my approach to the person in front of me, balancing empathy, reflection, practical coping skills, and encouragement as we work toward meaningful change.

Therapeutic Approaches
My Why
Before beginning my clinical counseling training, I spent more than eight years working in family advocacy and support services. During that time, I worked alongside individuals and families navigating crisis, transition, and some of the most emotionally difficult moments of their lives.
Those experiences taught me the importance of staying calm when things feel chaotic, listening beyond what is being said on the surface, and helping people break overwhelming situations into something they can begin to understand.
That continues to shape the way I approach counseling today. I want therapy to be a place where you feel heard, respected, and supported at your own pace. My goal is to help you find clarity, recognize your strengths, and build practical skills that allow you to move forward with greater confidence.
As the spouse of a veteran, I also bring personal understanding of some of the transitions, sacrifices, and experiences that can
accompany military-connected life.
